We are grateful to Graeme and Mary Walters, who preserved and typed up Ruby Roberts’ travel diary, and gave us approval to publish her accounts. Now the world will know more about one of Australia’s most accomplished female billiards players.

Ruby Roberts was an Australian Professional Billiards player before the First World War. Growing up in a billiards environment (her uncle was the Australian Professional Champion Charles Memmott) and John Roberts was her mentor and coach.
